It Monitors changes, Software installed in Windows which may be caused by Spyware. It is integrated with Edge to scan for malicious software in the file you are downloading.

If you already have the Antivirus software installed like Quick heal, Norton, etc They disable Defender automatically.
So, first, we will check that Windows Defender is running or not?
1. Click on Show hidden icons (up arrow)on the taskbar.
2. If you see Shield icon. It means that Defender is on.
<b><u>How to Turn Off Windows Defender??</u></b>
Step 1. Press Win key of click on windows icon on screen and type Defender and hit Enter. It will open Windows Defender Security Center or Click on the shield icon in from taskbar.
Step 2. Now click on small gear icon at bottom left corner. It will open settings.
Step 3. Click on Virus & threat protection settings.
Step 4. Under Real-time protection Click on toggle button to off the Windows Defender.
Step 5. It will popup User Account Control asking “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device” Click on Yes.
That’s it Your Windows Defender is off now. If you want to Turn on Windows Defender reverse the process.
